DIAMANTE ELÉCTRICOVINYL DESIGN2024

“MALHABLADO” is the eighth album from Diamante Eléctrico, one of Colombia’s more important rock/pop bands. The album explores the many faces of Bogotá’s night, from partying and dancing in drug fueled exthasis to heartbreak and melancholy on a lonely sidewalk as the sun rises. After a career of more than ten years, the band not only continues to expand its sound, taking influence from hip hop, psychedelic rock and pop, they also wanted to celebrate their long journey with their first centerfold vinyl.

The centerpiece encapsulates the spirit of the album, blending the band's dance floor energy and pop sensibility with the psychedelic, distorted nature of their sound.
The images and typography melt and tremble as if they inhabited a sweaty dance floor where bass frequencies make objects and bodies vibrate. With the same intention of appealing to dance culture and its graphic history, the labels maintain a simple design reminiscent of house music vinyl from the eighties.

NOISY NEIGHBOURSALBUM COVERS2022-2024

Noisy Neighbours was founded in 2021 as a platform to bring together, promote, blast and showcase the most bumpy and groovy house music. The label created by Emilio Mustafá and Alejandro Naranjo has been a hub for artists exploring the new landscapes of house music without losing its root original sound. Originally located in Bogotá, Noisy Neighbours is now an international project based in London and Barcelona and now counts with numerous collaborators and an ever growing list of releases.

Since the contacted me to create the logo and overall visual language of the label I have been working with the label creating artwork for every release with a great amount of creative freedom. Blending analogue and digital the style of Noisy Neighbours has evolved in a playful and vibrant collection of images that keep up with the fast paced grooves of its music and put in the forefront a sense of fun for the sake of fun in dance music.
In 2025 the label is set to release its first 12 inch vinyl “The Hood”. Listen to their music.

CASIALBUM ART DIRECTION2024

Casi is the musical project of Juan Antonio Carulla, creator of one of the most important independent outlets for music journalism in Colombia: El Enemigo. After years of covering the vast landscape of independent music in Colombia, Juan Antonio has thrown himself in the mix with a project that leans towards distortion, fast paced drumming, catchy almost pop-like choruses and frantic storytelling about life in Bogotá.

Nada Nunca Fue Peligroso is his first full length album, filled with character driven lyrics and hallucinatory stories about Bogotá’s non existent metro, reclusive vampires and impossible artistic easy living. All the artwork reflects the influence of punk trough a pop lense with a strong emphasis on printed textures that directly reference DIY graphics and a saturated yet gritty and dirty color palette that very well known to anyone living in Bogotá. Listen to Nada Nunca Fue Peligroso.

WYKALBUM ART2018-2021

w.y.k was an anomaly in the underground scene in Bogotá during its short time. Coming out at the same time as the  “big boom” of indie music that changed the independent musical landscape in Colombia, where guitar driven projects arose from the basements and sweaty small venues Colombia’s major cities to the mainstream,  w.y.k kept pushing towards experimentation and genre bending music that went from jazz to hip hop, reggae and more traditional Colombian rhythms, with a power trio (drums, piano & bass) that came from very different backgrounds, from classical, to punk and back again, and an MC more interested in literature than bars or skills.

Between 2018 and 2021 I worked closely with the band developing a visual style that could reflect their improvisational approach to music. This resulted in a collection of works made as fast as possible with no sketches or second takes. Collages and blink of an eye drawings became the face of their short and eclectic discography. Their first and only LP to this date “Doble Uyecá” was the first incursion in this style and “Tigre” one of their last singles is the crowning jewel of this long collaboration.

HUMANO EN TRÁNSITOVINYL DESING2023

Humano En Tránsito is Santiago Mejía’s musical, spiritual and emotional outlet. Mixing rock with jazz, Latin music with pop and the ethereal with the visceral Humano’s music is a journey that invites its listeners into a deep contemplative and meditational state.
In 2021 Santiago reached out to me to work on the artwork for the remix album of his first LP and we set out to work on its second album with a very simple brief: “It should be like walking through fog”.

So when the album was finished in 2023 we went for a minimalist style that could merge the abstraction and and psychedelia of the albums more spacious moments with the emotional and colorful pop production that permeates each song.
Knowing the album was going to be released on vinyl the artwork was made taking influence from Op Art and Pop Art so the cover could become an accompaniment to the music and a real life objetc where the listener could get lost while going through the tracklist. Listen to it here.

SCUMALBUM ART2022

SCUM stands for “Sociedad Para El Cuidado De Uno Mismo” an experimental hip hop band that merges sampling and live instruments to lay a heavy hitting ground for its two MCs to spit over. SCUM’s music delves into early morning over caffeinated sprituality, scatologic sel reflection and after hours flaneurism.

For their secon LP “Nada es tan sencillo porque todo es tan raro” we went for a minimalist style very inspired in Gonzo aesthetics to accompany the wild safari that becomes Bogotá in the songs of SCUM. The style invites the listener to imagine some kind of twisted graphic novel that illustrates de garbage riddled streets of a cold and rainy city filled with strangers, past lovers and graffiti infested palm trees.
